The DAN Automated External Defibrillation (DAN AED) operation and use course is a training course where you will gain knowledge and acquire skills to recognize the signs and symptoms that occur before sudden cardiac arrest. You will use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to increase a victim’s chances of survival, by up to 70%, when performing basic CPR. The training program has been approved by AED manufacturers.
Who is AED training aimed at
The training is aimed at all people, both divers and those who have nothing to do with diving. A sudden cardiac arrest situation can happen anywhere at any time. Knowing how to use an automated external defibrillator in conjunction with basic CPR provides a complete system for saving the lives and health of people with sudden cardiac arrest.
Why be a DAN AED rescuer
AEDs are available in a growing number of locations in every major city. Most government offices have equipped their buildings with an automated defibrillator. Knowing how to use it can be crucial in the situation of a victim with sudden cardiac arrest. You should know how to maximize and effectively use all the equipment available to save a life through Basic Life Support (BLS)
Prerequisites for Automated External Defibrillation – DAN AED training
The course builds on your knowledge of basic CPR so it can only be a stand-alone course if you already have a current certificate from a recognized CPR training organization. Examples of such training include DAN Basic Life Support (BLS) or Emergency First Response (EFR). AED training can also be completed as an additional module during Basic Life Support, Oxygen First Aid or Advanced Oxygen First Aid training.
